People *can* get clear solutions using Poly20 and heat, but they end up being really thick and the feel isn't good. I much prefer alcohol -- it's refreshing. Poly20 comes from coconut, but it is highly refined. I don't have a problem with the chemical nature, but when people list it as a plant-derived surfactant, I dunno... It won’t clear up reliably. I checked Sams, BJ's and Costco (among other grocery stores and wine making suppliers) - the warehouse stores have great deals on large bags of Baking Soda (and Sea Salt for that matter) but no Citric Acid.
